Benefit Events

Until the zombie apocalypse finally hits, turns out, we can't take over the streets for free. Though we'll happily stick out our pumpkin pail and take any treats you've got, never let it be said that we didn't arrange a few tricks to make it worth your while. With the generous support of many talented local artists, musicians and entrepreneurs, we're pulling together a sweet line up of benefit events leading up to the big march. Get on out and support the cause!

Costume Dance Party
The mighty Bruce Pingree will spin your head, and your tunes. Friday, Oct. 2 at 9pm, Press Room, 77 Daniel St., $5.

(I got a) Rock Show
Featuring Heavens to Murgatroid, Jupiter 2, The Asthmatics and a tribute to ’80s electronica wunderbots Kraftwerk by Die Mensch Maschine. Monday, Oct. 5 at 7pm, Coat of Arms, 174 Fleet St. Donations encouraged.

Undead Beat Night
Spooky poetry reading and open mike with music by Groove Bacteria. Thursday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 9pm, Press Room, 77 Daniel St. Donations encouraged.

Hateful Little Benefit
Featuring Hateful Little Cakes, Breakfast Song and Audrey Ryan, Friday, Oct. 23 at  9pm, Press Room, 77 Daniel St., $5.

Pumpkin Smash
Smash a pumpkin, win a prize! Saturday, Oct 24 from 8am to 1pm at the Portsmouth Farmers’ Market, 1 Junkins Ave.

Hush Hush Sweet Harlot Benefit Music Night
Featuring Horchata, Nate Laban, Salt Pine Telegraph (formerly Penhallow), Monday, Oct. 26 at 8pm, Red Door, 107 State St., $5.

Flatbread Community Night
Need another reason to eat great pizza? Percentage of the evening’s flatbread sales donated to the Halloween Parade, plus raffle! Tuesday, Oct. 27, Flatbread Company, 138 Congress St.

Humpmuscle Returns
Fear them, for they are huge and made of metal! Show to begin directly after the Parade concludes. Saturday, Oct. 31 at 9pm, Coat of Arms, 174 Fleet St. Donations encouraged.

Jumbo Circus Peanuts
Coat at capacity? (It will be.) Hop around the corner and dance into All Saints Day with a Portsmouth Halloween favorite!   Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8pm, Portsmouth VFW, 238 Deer St., $5.

MASK-arade Art Show
Featuring original mask artwork inspired by the Parade, and display of original artwork by local illustrators, designers and artists collected for the Halloween MASK-arade Coloring Book, The Press Room, 77 Daniel St.

Portsmouth Brewery  Community Pint Nights
Every Tuesday evening, for each pint you buy, the Portsmouth Brewery will donate .25¢ to a charity of your choice. Watch for the Halloween Parade box this October, and drop your tokens wisely!

Spooky Cookie
Buy the delicious custom cookie and 50% goes to the Parade. Ceres Street Bakery, 51 Penhallow St.
